The Kerry Branch of the BSTAI are hosting a one day intensive revision seminar for Leaving Certificate Higher Level Business students on Saturday 21st January 2016, between 10.30am and 1pm in ITT (North Campus).
The course will be delivered by Jerry McCarthy and Alan Ryan, both experienced and inspiring teachers, who have been delivering the Business revision course annually for a number of years for the Cork Branch of the BSTAI in UCC.
The seminar will be held on one morning which is smart use of student’s time and cuts down on revision costs. Jerry covers section 1 and 2 including key work on short and long questions and will also focus on key units of study needed for the 2017 Applied Business Question. Alan will highlight the important areas of study in section 3 and will focus on effective revision techniques in preparation for the exam, including a study timetable.
Each student will receive a comprehensive exam preparation and revision book which contains revision notes, sample answers and key exam tips.
The cost of the seminar is €20 per students, which covers attendance and the revision booklet.

Jerry McCarthy – Section 1 & 2
Jerry taught Business, Business Studies and Mathematics in De La Salle College, Macroom from 1980 to 2014. He has been presenting the student revision seminars and exam paper reviews in UCC as well as presenting LC Business: Exam Techniques at the BSTAI National Conferences for a number of years. Jerry has been a Leaving Certificate Business Examiner since 1988 and will share his experience in this workshop on the best answering techniques to use to obtain top marks in your Leaving Certificate Business Exam.
Alan Ryan – Section 3
Alan is an experienced secondary teacher of LC Business, Accounting & Economics since 1995 at St Augustine’s College in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. Alan is the author of the first and best selling LC Business Revision Book published by Folens. He has presented on methodologies in teaching various topics in LC Accounting and Business at BSTAI National Conferences for a number of years, along with Revision seminar presentations to students at various locations including UCC and DCU.
